Metroaerospace 2026

RadarLab and SATERA at IEEE MetroAeroSpace 2026 in Madrid

Madrid, Spain — IEEE MetroAeroSpace 2026

RadarLab and the SATERA project took part in IEEE MetroAeroSpace 2026, a great opportunity to meet researchers and professionals working at the forefront of aerospace, navigation and surveillance technologies.

We had an incredible time in Madrid. Beyond the beautiful city, the conference provided a stimulating environment for exchanging ideas, presenting new results and discussing the technologies that will shape the future of aviation and space-based navigation.

During the conference, we had the opportunity to share our latest research on space-based air traffic surveillance and satellite constellations, with a particular focus on the SATERA vision for using LEO satellite systems to support aircraft surveillance independently of traditional terrestrial infrastructure.

The event was also an excellent opportunity to connect with researchers from around the world, exchange experiences and explore new perspectives on the integration of satellite technologies into future aviation systems.

A big thank you to the IEEE MetroAeroSpace 2026 organizers, as well as to everyone who visited our presentations, discussed our work and shared ideas with us.

We are excited about the future of satellite-based aviation surveillance and the opportunities that space-based technologies can bring to the next generation of air traffic management.

The future of aviation surveillance is looking bright!
